Defenders of BadgerCare from Across Wisconsin will Attend Hearing
At today's Joint Finance Committee Meeting at the State Capitol the committee will review a revised federal waiver proposal that could force tens of thousands of Wisconsinites off BadgerCare. The hearing was forced by Democratic objections to the waiver.
Defenders of BadgerCare from across the state and enrollees will attend the hearing to press the committee to reject this proposal and instead take up the Badger Care Protection Act (SB 538). The BadgerCare Protection Act removes the authority of the Walker Administration to cut BadgerCare, and is funded by closing corporate tax loopholes that allow large corporations to shield profits out of state.

The BadgerCare Protection Act was referred to the Joint Finance Committee, but co-chairs Senator Alberta Darling and Rep. Robin Vos have not scheduled a hearing or a vote on the measure.
The Joint Finance Committee is scheduled to begin its meeting today at 1 PM in Room 412 East, State Capitol.
